We are relieved to announce that Microsoft has formally withdrawn their DMCA copyright claim against Allumeria.
As of today, the Steam store page has been fully restored, and the game is once again available for wishlisting and community interaction.
What Happened?
In late January 2026, Allumeria received a DMCA takedown notice from Microsoft, alleging copyright infringement related to Minecraft. This resulted in the temporary removal of our Steam page just weeks before our planned participation in Steam Next Fest.
The claim appeared to be triggered by automated enforcement systems (reportedly Tracer.AI) flagging a specific screenshot that shared visual similarities with Minecraft's voxel style. However, as we have always maintained, Allumeria is a distinct creation with its own unique assets, gameplay mechanics, and artistic vision.
The Outcome
After reviewing the case, Microsoft has retracted the claim. This allows us to proceed without the need for a lengthy and costly counter-claim process or legal battle.
"This is the best case scenario. We can now focus entirely on development and the upcoming release." — Unomelon
We want to thank our community for their incredible support and patience during this stressful period. Your voices and encouragement meant the world to us.
Next Steps
With the legal hurdle cleared, we are back to full-speed development. Stay tuned for more updates on our upcoming demo and release plans!
